Our day has been in constant prayer and seeking council. This system we have is unbelievable. We have heard many "authorities" give us advice over the last week. This system is so broken!
We are stopping the process at this point. Grace is devastated but we have been told that we absolutely need her parents death certificate's and Grandma's guardianship papers from Lagara Village before we go in and waste our money on another denial. That was a valuable information because it is so expensive. Grace's name has gone around the Embassy office and they know her without much background. (For those who don't know the distance- Lagara Village is about a 10 hour trip on two buses.) We tracked down the Council member to Lagara for the info thanks to an organization FRIENDS OF ORPHANS. The council member said Grace needs to be there in person to obtain the documents and also file for the guardianship papers with Grandma.
We are setting a plan in place for Grace to get the paperwork and then trying for her visa at next Uganda school break which is Dec.-Feb. (2 months roughly).
This will give us some "African" time to get those papers in order and regroup.
This stinks! No other words can describe our hurt spirits. She and I spent some time in her room crying and trying to figure out from here what to do. She is a strong young lady but still needs that quiet time with someone.
We love her so much.
We believe God has brought us here for the foundation work.
You always need a good foundation!
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. “For the foundations of the earth are the LORD’s; on them he has set the world.- 1 Samuel 2:8
