Brian and I arrived home safe to the kids and some dear friends and family at the Kalamazoo Airport. We were so happy to see familiar faces.
Grace arrived home in Pader a day earlier with her dear friend Oyet James accompanying her. He was so sad to hear that she didn't get her visa that he said he couldn't let her go on the 12 hour bus trip alone.
He is her family too.
Grace and I can now text and she said there was some difficulty with the second bus arriving but they got back the next day after sleeping in the bus terminal in Lira.
As you can imagine, this was not the outcome any of us were asking God for. We are continuing to pray for the paperwork to be completed by December so that Grace will have another attempt at the visa interview. She has a list of things that we have "learned" are now the essential items to bring. She has all the necessary means to make it happen. We have given her a camera to take photos of her community and family. She will also be working with Grandma to obtain guardianship with the courts & getting copies of her parents death certificates.
We can only keep positive and keep working on this.
Thank you for the support you have given Grace.
Here's a note she wrote to her supporters.
"I don't know how I can express myself for the great disappointment but it is normal. We need to put in God trust! He is the maker of all things in this universe (world). I was wishing to see you physically at this moment but still praying hard that early December I will not be denied again.
May the almighty father bless your heart at this moment. Thank you- Grace"
