Keepin' on!

This past weekend we hosted a memorial dinner for George Upenji.  He lost his life in a moped accident last week.  His sister, Dr. Betty Udongo, her children,  friends and family were here to remember George and laugh and cry.  (Mostly laugh!)
As we put our sorrow in God's hands, we also are moving on with Grace's paperwork.
Last week Grace and I began the DS-160 over the phone while I typed the information on the computer.  We came to the portion that asks for the passport number.  That is where we had to stop & save our work.
Attorney, Joe, has slowed in his communication to us regarding why the passport is "late".  We are coming on two weeks that it was supposed to be here & there is not any more answers as to WHY!?
We knew it would not happen as hoped or told it would.  This process is a lesson in extreme-patience.
Fielding questions as to why it's not back is my full-time job.  We are not sure and have only a text from Joe saying there was a "mishap" and it should be here this week.  Yup.
We have left many messages for Joe via email, text, call, and social media.  No answer.
Grace and I talked today and she keeps asking when she is going to Kampala.  Explaining to her that it is in the hands of our attorney to get us the passport, is all I have.
She is preparing for her exams on August 13th and wants to sit for them.  I asked her how much she needs for the 4 books to prepare for them and she said 15,000 shillings.  (That works out to be $5.78 in US dollars.)  This amount will also buy her a pair of shoes that she hoped for.
I explained that she will have all the materials she needs here in the USA from her shoes to her school books.  I think it's still hard for her to comprehend.

T-SHIRT orders!
The order has been placed and the T-shirts will be here soon.  We drove to Lansing to place the order after the storms yesterday.  75 shirts were ordered.  Thank you for the support you have given to Grace and our family.  We will distribute the shirts as soon as they come in!
They are so cool! Can NOT wait to wear mine!
