We now have a visa interview date. It is the 18th of August! Plenty of time to return for home-time and school prep. (& also disappear from the spot light.)
The only issue is that we are Grace's legal guardians and it is "encouraged" for us to be there. I spoke to the Officer at the US Embassy this morning and he said it would "not hurt" to be there when she is interviewed but we may only be escorting her to the Embassy door and then waiting in the hall. It is not common for the interviewer to refer to "American sponsors" during the visa interview. Totally understand! Since we need to deliver some documents to Grace for the interview, we figured we would hand deliver them!
(SIDE NOTE: The Marine that was on the phone said he knew where Kalamazoo was located. He had a 6 pack of Bell's beer in his frig waiting for him to get out of work!) FUNNY!!!
Albert and Grace are now free to return to Nebbi and then prepare for her departure. They have completed all the necessary requirements for her to leave the country!
We are now running crazy around the house. This means that we must prepare for home-life to continue. We are so blessed by great neighbors, friends and most of all family, that are here in our absence to see that everything runs smoothly. Thanks to all of you!
We ask for continued prayers over this trip and Grace's departure.
