Communal Thinking

"I'm turning you over to God, our marvelous God whose gracious Word can make you into what he wants you to be and give you everything you could possibly need in this community of holy friends."
-Acts 20:32 THE MESSAGE
The Premier Jewelry party for Grace was a holy form of communal thinking.  After the party cleared, Brian and I sat alone in the house last night in tears. The kids are gone to Camp Geneva for the week so the quiet can get loud.
We both experienced a holy group of friends in our house that were dedicated to the cause of Grace coming for her education.  I did not want to dishonor the moment with words.  Sitting there, alone in the house with tears in our eyes, we felt a push by God to continue.  He is so faithful to us!  We are so incredibly blessed to be used in such a way.
Living out faith is so incredible to watch happen.

I asked Betty a couple of days ago what we could do for George that would honor him for the help that he has done for Grace.  She replied that the gifts we (Americans) would want are different.  She said that he has been asking for shoes from her.  We went back and forth with my idea of what to give him that would be placed in a his house to thank him.  She laughed and simply said, "shoes."
Shoes.
I have seen Africa and know there are basic needs that are a necessity but again humbled by the gift idea.
So I talked to George this morning.  I asked him what size he wears of shoes.  He said 10 (US) or 45 (Euro).  That made him happy to answer.  I like hearing his voice so upbeat.
We told him to let Grace know that there is an amazing family of believers that are working to provide her a way to the US to go to school.  He said that he appreciates the help we are giving to Grace and wants to express his gratitude for those who are working to make this happen.
Ditto, George.
